Advanced Placement (AP)
Advanced placement classes offer students a chance to do advanced subject work while in high school to earn college credit. Students take the class and then are tested at the end of the year. AP test are scored from 1-5; a score of 3 or higher qualifies the student for various amounts of college credit. AP credit is accepted differently at various colleges and universities. There is a testing fee for each test taken. Students taking AP courses are not required to take the AP test at the end of the year if they wish. Failing scores on an AP test will not appear on college transcripts.

About AP Test Scores
Concurrent Enrollment (CE)
CE classes offered at PHS allow students to register for classes through Utah Valley University (UVU) and earn college credit by successfully completing the course. Students must take the ACT or accuplacer test before enrolling in CE English or Math. CE classes cannot be dropped after the college withdrawal deadline. If a student decides not to finish a class after the deadline, a failing grade will be recorded on their college transcript. CE credit is not automatic, you must meet the requirements and pass the course. UVU requires a one-time admission fee plus $5 fee per college credit hour for all CE classes.
